  Well, I just stumbled on this site and decided to join since I'm a foodie. I am a trained chef living in the U.S.A for about 8 yrs now. I am originally from San Ignacio Town, Cayo Dist. Belize. I will always love my Belizean food. Even though I am trained to cook Internatiional Cuisine, I try to make my rice and beans with stew chicken and potato salad atleast once a month. Food is my passion, I do not eat food to live, I live to eat food. I believe that God didn't make food for us just to survive, He made food for us to come together as family, give thanks, sit down and enjoy each others company while we calm our appetite.

  I was been in Florida since 1958, Most Carribean Islands. Just turned 62 Nov. 7th 2009, and begin early Soc Security of $1100 and can't live on it here or the islands, however heard that's possible in Belize with a few odd jobs or own business. I am an engineer and have my own business. I still work but would eventually like to retire. I will be coming to Belize in December this year to check things out. Looking forward to meeting some of the locals and trying to determine if my plan is a reasonable plan or if I would just have to wait until I retire and move permanently at that time.
